Sony has announced its new VAIO C series 14-inch notebook lineup that will be hitting stores in the coming months. No word on the pricing as of now so we ll have to just wait it out.

If you thought the EB series had bold colors then you ain't seen nothing yet. The new C series notebooks comes in a striking shade of green and orange among other regular shades like pink, black and white. These former two colors in particular are for those who want to stand out in a crowd as they scream attention. As if that wasn't enough, the orange and green options have a special light emitting feature which scatters light along the edges of the translucent lid and the keys to create a glow effect, an interesting concept.

It's not all show and no go, the notebook will come with a ambient light sensor that automatically engages the keyboard backlight and dims or brightens the screen which is not something we see often in notebooks. The notebook has a quick boot option as well which takes you to a XMB styled menu if what you want is just browse the net. The 14 screen sports a resolution of 1366x768 along with the Core i5 SandyBridge CPU. Memory starts from 4GB and for storage we get a 320GB hard drive which I m sure is upgradable.

For connectivity, we have a USB 3.0 port among the other USB 2.0 ports, HDMI 1.4a out (with 3D support). Once again, Sony hasn't mentioned anything about the battery life or what capacity battery is being used. There are some extra features which can be configured on this laptop if you purchase it online like Hybrid graphics that switch between discrete to onboard depending on the task. From the pictures, the C series should appeal to the youth who would want something funky instead of a dull silver notebook.
